Might be an interesting idea - trying to time the "lifts" to get to platforms without waiting too long. But I don't know if anything interesting is done with the mechanic, since I can't play it properly on my laptop because the touchpad has keyboard activated delay. So after jumping, I can't click for about a second or so, which means I can't grab most hooks.
So, I find I once again must ask a question that I feel I should just start saving in a notepad given how often I ask it on this site... Why a mouse button? The mouse isn't used for any kind of aiming, accuracy, or precision. I confirmed that "click the mouse near a hook" means when the player is near the hook, not the mouse. Seems to me that arrows to move, and a couple of other keys adjacent to each other (z/x, a/s, x/c. etc) would make the game playable on more systems. (or wasd and k/l, or similar)
Yeah the gameplay loop definitely needs some work, the mechanic just seemed fun and I ran with it. Didn't explore much more in depth unfortunately, had a pretty busy week-end.
And you do have a point about the mouse, it was a pretty random choice. I didn't think of laptop users or accessibility so much... But I will make sure to do so from now on :)

Nice game! The mouse click is pretty random though :D Also would appreciate some kind of indicator, when I am close enough to grab the hook.
Oh that's actually a great idea, I haven't been very good at designing intuitive UIs or indicators in my games... Thanks for playing!
